Stone Cold Angel (Click here for Past Performances)

This five year old gelding by Slew of Angels is directly related to the great Seattle Slew. He would make an excellent hunter/jumper prospect as he has Steeplechase breeding in him. He is extremely sound but too slow even for the Los Alamitos track as he is a marathon type horse who could go for two miles or more. Unfortunately, those very long distance races are not written in the US.  Stone Cold Angel is still at the track but his prospects there are not good as he does lack the speed so he is really not a candidate for US racing. However, because of his stamina and endurance he would be a great candidate for eventing and cross country or just as a pleasure riding horse. He is a good size Bay, very athletic, quite curious, loving and playful.

Update:  We had inquires all over the US for Noah from Nebraska to a sports house home in Kentucky.  However, our new friend Nicole adopted him and then with Neigh Savers consultation, we decided to form a southern California based retraining program. Nicole is a life long equestrian who had once saved a horse from a feedlot that was with her for many years.  Nicole will give Noah the time to cool down from the track and then transition him into either a hunter-jumper or a dressage horse with the help of trainer Cynthia Wilson. Since he has steeplechase breeding this should be no problem.

Update - April 2009

Noah has been moved to Kimberlee Farms in Somis, CA to be trained in dressage and/or as a hunter-jumper.

This photo shows ten year old Matthew who had never been around horses and was very shy immediately take to Noah. Matthew enjoys visiting the barn and helping out and learning horsemanship skills from Cynthia and Nicole.

Update - July 2009

Noah can jump!!! These photos taken by JenRenee Photography, Camarillo, CA. demonstrate the fabulous results one can get from off track thoroughbreds when managed and trained by loving professionals. No one told Noah to jump. He was taught to jump but now he loves it and when he gets in the arena naturally jumps over fences and as the other pictures show, is full of boundless energy and joy. Thoroughbreds have a tremendous work ethic and so much heart. They want to please their human caregivers and this is the remarkable result. You can see by Noah's face and coat what a magnificient specimen he is. Noah isn't a "well bred" horse by any standards. He is more or less blue collar, with some steeplechase background in him. He comes from blue collar Los Alamitos, where Neigh Savers is getting the majority of its horses. We currently have two horses in training at Kimberlee Farms and are shortly receiving a third. Our other horse, Idle No More, is a blue blood, raced in Europe and came from the premier Darley Stable and was once handled by Bobby Frankel and came off track from Santa Anita. Idle is a little behind Noah in training because we received him at a later date. It will be interesting to watch these two develop....both have a great deal of talent. And, by the way, our next candidate is also likely coming from Los Alamitos. This is just to quiet the "Nay Sayers" who keep telling us that the horses at Los Alamitos cannot be transitioned to anything other than simple riding horses, if even that. Just take a good look at Noah now, formerly of Los Alamitos and formerly conditioned by trainer Dominic Fama.
