Clever Captain

This 4 year old gelding boasts quite a fine pedigree as he is by Muqtarib out the Quite Clever mare by Clever Trick.   Clever is 15.2 hands and was easy going, athletic and showed talent in training. Unfortunately he was never given the chance to race due to an ankle fracture in October 2006.  His xrays have now come up clean and the vet feels the ankle should not be a problem.   Clever now needs another three months where he will need work and time to learn new job. He is a level headed personable horse that will make a great riding horse for a teenager or beginner rider.

Update:  Clever Captain has been adopted and will be joining the former Nuevo Emigrant (now named Joe) and the newly adopted Robert the Great (now named Bob) in northern California's Colusa County with plenty of pasture space and events to occupy them.

The Captain, as he will now be named, belongs to teenager Britney pictured.  Britney first had a long distance romance with The Captain and put his photo on her screen saver.  Next, she decided that all the money she worked so hard for during the walnut harvest was going to be donated to Neigh Savers and a smaller portion for gifts for her as of yet unseen gelding.  When Britney arrived The Captain stuck his head out of his stall and immediately beckoned to her.  It almost seemed as though he had been waiting all along for this lovely young woman to take him home.  We put him out in the round pen and then Britney dressed him up in his hot pink new halter.  He followed her around like a devoted dog and it was love at first sight for the both of them.  The Captain will be parading in the Sheriff's Posse, will be trained in search and rescue, roping, barrel chasing and a number of other adventures that will keep him very busy.  The entire family is so excited to incorporate these three horses into their lives.  Even Aunt/Sister Lynne who owns a mini horse farm named Gottalittlehorsefarm is now involved as she may take a NS horse that is currently in rehab.  We will now need to start a satellite facility in Colusa County!
