Comedy is Magic is a four year old 16.1 hands gelding by Comic Strip out of Miracle Meeting.  His grandfather is General Meeting directly ascended from the great Seattle Slew.  Currently Comedy is Magic is recuperating from a fractured femur at Delta Breeze Farms.  Brenda, Farm Manager for Delta Breeze, reports that he is a really good patient and needs about four months before she can begin to ride and retrain him.  When he first arrived at Delta Breeze he was very thin as the photo taken on June 12 shows but he has already shown a marked improvement as shown with the photo taken on July 1, 2008. 

Money for his board had run out and there was a potential buyer from Iowa who wanted to take him and put him back into racing.  However, Marguerite, Farm Manager for EA Ranches, told the potential buyer that she had seen pictures and felt that racing did not agree with him.  EA Ranches was covering board bills so that Comedy had the down time he needed.  Neigh Savers is committed to helping give this horse the additional time he still needs and has already put together an angel network of sponsors that will get him through the next four months.  Brenda of Delta Breeze is undertaking the rehab of this horse at no cost and has also reduced her daily rate for him significantly.  We are also looking for a potential adoption placement for him in future.

Update:  Comedy now renamed "Twiggy" was readopted by his new friend and companion Jenna in February 2009. He is now starting to event and Jenna provides this report plus some lovely new photos: “Twiggy is a smart, kind, and spunky horse. I have had him and been riding him since February and he is learning to be an event horse. He loves his job and comes trotting up to the fence everyday nickering. I attached some photos of us that were taken this last weekend at an Three Day Event in Santa Ynez where he completed his first Training level horse trials!!!! Twig is a fast learner and he remembers every lesson that he is taught. He is a brave and talented jumper and a willing partner in dressage. Twiggy loves to jump, eat grain, go on trail rides, and have his neck scratched firmly just below his mane. Everyone that meets him loves him because of his sweet and curious personality and I am often teased because of my great pride and joy in him. I want to thank everyone who was involved in rescuing him for giving this fabulous horse a second chance and in turn giving me a special partner and friend. Thank you!!!!!”
