Ur My Dixie Girl

"Ur My Dixie Girl" is a four year old filly by Cause Ur Mine (Giant's Causeway-Storm Cat) and out of the mare Dixieland Fever (Dixieland Band). She raced 16 times and earned nearly 60K. Nearly all of her races were at Golden Gate Fields and she comes to us directly off track with an injury. Even though Dixie is a little filly coming in at only 15.2 hands she proved herself to be a very effective race horse.

Dixie is rehabbing in Sonoma County wine country with our crew there. She arrived in early December to rehab from a hairline fracture (non-displaced condylar). She has been good to handle as she settles into her new routine--including daily leg wraps. She is a little pistol, very dainty and feminine. It will be fun to work with her once she is out of rehab. Her next xrays are due around Valentine's Day....stay tuned!

Update - March 2013

Great news! Xrays show that Dixie is 100% healed and can now start going outside and enjoying the fresh air and getting more exercise. This mare has been about as patient as she could be under the circumstances.

Update - June 2013

Dixie continues to make excellent progress. Jessica reports: "Aahh... a good day for this lovely mare I've come to love for her sensitive soul, tough-as-nails heart and wickedly smart mind." The photos show Dixie finally enjoying the sun and showing her approval of all that surrounds her now.

Update: August 2013

Dixie has been adopted by Erin and moved just minutes away from the stable in Sonoma. Erin and Dixie are a perfect match and now Erin's sister Cassie is hoping Neigh Savers will find her the same sort of connection.
