Doolledo (Click here for Past Performances)

TRIAL ADOPTION COMPLETED!!!

This giant 9 year old and almost 18 h/h gelding is by Slewdledo and boasts as his grandfather the great Triple Crown Winner Seattle Slew. Dooie broke his maiden on his first attempt at Golden Gate Fields. He then raced another 18 times before hanging up his racing plates. After his maiden win, Dooie thought he had accomplished what was expected and never again graced the Winner's Circle.

Dooie is currently in Clayton, CA along with fosters Ymustichasethecat and Excessively Rich. As Craig no longer rides him we are looking for a home for this personable gelding.

Dooie has been riding English for the past year or so, has learned to neck rein and prefers English. He has an awesome lope too. He’s primarily only been trail riding and then is ridden Western. However, he is too big for the small, steep trails found in the Clayton area and his owners do not have an arena to work him in. He had a short racing career with one win, has no track injuries and is in great health with good feet. He’s very friendly and playful and loves people. He’s a TB so with his size must be kept in front shoes, no barefoot trims. He is very powerful so expert riders only and he is not a jumper with his size.

Update - March 2010

It's off to the Police Academy for our Doolledo! Dooie will serve as a police horse at the Park Presidio in San Francisco. For awhile Dooie has been telling us he needs a career and for this alpha almost 18hh gelding it seems a perfect fit. Congrats on your new career Dooie. A lot of horses were evaluated and you made the mark!

Update - July 2010

Our dear Dooie was expelled from the Police Academy after three months of intensive training due to the fact he couldn't complete the long shifts required. Wanted to go back to the barn before the prescribed time. Oh well, it's back to the drawing board or our dear Dooie.

Update - September 2010

Dooie is returning to the program. The adoption that we had anticipated never materialized at Kimberlee Farms. Dooie would make an excellent project horse for a willing adopter.

Update - October 2010

Our newest BBF's Michelle, Xan and Mitra have kindly taken Dooie in as a project horse. Thank you for your compassion! He is a big hunk of a guy with some issues and a broken spirit but we are hoping for a turnaround with lots of love, patience and time.

Update - December 2010

We have some sad news to report. Dooie was in a trailering accident on his way to Michele & Xan and was seriously injured. After many weeks of treatment and surgeries he was not recovering even though he was given the best of medical care and love. Sadly, the vets, Michele & Xan needed to end his suffering for no more could be done to save this boy. We are truly sorry for this tragedy.
