Valerie's Gift (Gigi)

Valerie's Gift (Gigi), is a yearling by Dante's Inferno out of the dam Baby Bountiful.

Gigi comes to us from Tranquility Farms, where she was foaled, and was exceptionally cared for by Priscilla Clark. However, Gigi has quite a back story and were it not for the interaction of many compassionate individuals that rose up to save her dam, Baby Bountiful, would not be here to tell the tale.

Her dam was part of a sudden dispersal of 46 horses by top breeder Benjamin Warren of Warren’s Thoroughbreds in Hemet, CA.

Most of the horses were pregnant brood mares that were given or sold to an unidentified individual in Riverside, California. They were later transferred to a new owner near Phoenix, Arizona who sells unwanted horses cheaply at auction or transports them to Mexico for slaughter.

Mr. Warren still claims he gave the horses to an individual in Riverside and still denies that he had sold them to a buyer in Arizona.

Priscilla eventually bought all 40 mares and five stallions and adopted them out except for the 4 mares that she brought back to Tranquility Farm to foal. There were 46 horses in total that Ben Warren allegedly dumped, and the only one that Priscilla couldn't rescue was the sire of Valerie's Gift. Dante's Inferno. "He (Mr. Warren) wouldn't sell that beautiful stallion to me, even though I offered him up to 5,000, and that poor horse stood for months in barbed wire on a pile of rocks in the burning sun. I never found out what happened to him but it breaks my heart. Anyway, your little Gigi is special, a limited edition for sure."

Now Gigi is ready for training and a new life but will never be groomed for the track. She will grow up and be trained at Kimberlee Farms for a career in jumping and then we hope to adopt her out to a good home at the appropriate time. Her breeding and conformation are excellent and she is a top candidate for a show career. In fact, she is directly related to Caro who produced one of the top Hunter Stallions in the country. Further Gigi has Caro on the top and bottom of her pedigree line!
