Go Giorgianni Go (Click here for Past Performances)

"Go Giorgianni Go" or simply Gio is an adorable big bay gelding. We are so excited to be able to work with him. He is a six year old who raced 27 times....it took the poor boy 20 times to break his maiden. He has some nice sporthorse pedigree in him so someone is going to get very lucky. He is by top sire Candi's Gold and can trace his lineage through the great Northern Dancer line. As volunteer Kali says: "He is 16.2 give or take a little, is beautifully put together, and is really well mannered and sweet. He has a really nice set of legs and feet and a wonderful topline. He screams sporthorse."

Gio did arrive with a swollen ankle. We immediately had it looked at and xrayed and unfortunately he has a few issues in his ankle that will require a long term rehab as the ankle fuses. We believe Gio will be able to be lightly ridden at some point depending on the range of motion he develops in that ankle. He will be pasture sound though and because he loves other horses would make a nice companion to someone. He is also very sweet and personable and deserves a chance.

Update - June 2012

Because of his really bad ankle that is now in the 6 month fusing stage and ultimately Gio may only be pasture sound we sent Gio to The Golden Carrot and Casey O'Connor's excellent care. We believe a permanent sanctuary situation is more in Gio's best interest at this time.
