Full Blooded Irish
"Full Blooded Irish" is a 5 year old thoroughbred gelding by Flying Continential. Irish was not a big money maker at the track but he is a very pretty grey\roan.
He has been under saddle with a dressage trainer as Irish enjoys working. His owner reports she is just learning to ride again and cannot handle him very well. This owner does not want him to end up in the wrong hands as she states "he deserves better (as they all do)." She has asked Neigh Savers and GEVA if they would help her find him a more suitable home.
Irish is 16 hands and needs training by an experienced horseperson because although he loves to work he does require additional ground manner work.
Irish has been ADOPTED and is moving to his new home in Custer, Washington. His previous owner could not work with him as she was not an experienced rider but his new owners are thrilled to receive him, a mother-daughter team of expert riders who have quite a bit of property and own a tack store as well named THE HORSEY SHOP. Irish has hit the proverbial pot of gold!
Sometimes a horse is not the right match for a person and vice versa. Although it can be a tough decision it is in the best interests of both parties if a change is made.
Nancy writes this to Neigh Savers: "As you can see I am a worrisome Mom...even though he has been a handful for me, I love him dearly and will miss him. I feel like he has hit the lottery with his new home, so for that I am eternally grateful. Thanks again for your help."
Nancy writes this to Tabitha: "I just pulled a map out to see where you are located, that's sure a long trip for Irish! He is a pretty boy with lots of energy. I hope you love him as much as I do. It's been a hard decision to adopt him out, my heart is fully invested in him. I know I saved him from certain slaughter when I took him in. Unfortunately, my newness at riding and his energy level aren't a great match for either of us. I would love it if I could hear from you how he is doing occasionally. I made this choice for him because I want him to have the life he so deserves. Thank you for opening up your home and heart to my boy."
Update:
Irish arrived at his home in upstate Washington near the Canadian border in good form. He took to the fresh air and green grass in short order and Tabatha's daughter Kelsey was able to ride him almost immediately as shown in this photo. We hope to get updates of Kelsey and Irish winning ribbons and other awards as this guy is a real worker who loves to train and has star quality looks as well.
